Selling your services to potential customers is always about building confidence. It’s not always easy to promote the quality and expertise your business has to offer without making the embroidery sales process seem complex. As we know there are a high degree of variables involved when embroidering a design onto a garment; this makes the process challenging and, at times, appear complex.

So how can you make it simple for your customers to work with you? Asking for a copy of their logo sounds simple enough, right? Well, in practice it’s not that straightforward. The image might come to you as a printed letter head or a hand drawn illustration, or as a digital file, as a bitmap, or as a vector, in a wide variety of formats. It is important that you can efficiently and easily take that artwork and make it suitable to translate into an embroidery design. In my experience CorelDRAW® is exactly the software that is needed to do this job. I use CorelDRAW® almost every day to import and manipulate images making the digitising process quicker and more efficient.

"CorelDRAW® integration with Wilcom Embroidery Studio e4 Designing

allows you to have all of the benefits of running two specialist software applications

switching back and forth between the two programs,

and your file, which contains both graphic and embroidery objects,

moves with you."

I was familiar with CorelDRAW® before it became an integrated part of Wilcom's digitising software. It is the graphic software choice of the vast majority of small and medium sized print and embroidery businesses who need a powerful, easy to use, and affordable graphics package. I would use CorelDRAW® to scan images, trace bitmaps and create new vector artwork. Then, when complete, I would export to a supported file format and then import it into my EmbroideryStudio . This was rather a long winded process and often lost useful information that could have been shared. That is thankfully in the past. It is important not to forget just how ground breaking the CorelDRAW® integration was to the digitising process when it became an integrated part of EmbroideryStudio, as it still is in the latest version of the software, e4.

CorelDRAW® integration with EmbroideryStudio e4 Designing and Decorating allows you to have all of the benefits of running two specialist software applications without the inefficient barriers between them that this would present. Instead you experience smooth and effortless integration, switching backwards and forwards between the two programs, and your file, which contains both graphic and embroidery objects, moves with you.

CorelDRAW® Graphics Suite provides full vector and bitmap graphics software, it is ideal for any business that embroiders, prints, cuts or engraves, and it’s just perfect for multi decoration designs.

For me the digitising process almost always starts with CorelDRAW®. Importing a wide variety of graphic file formats is a breeze. It is very common for me to receive a PDF file these days, I can import it and remove elements I do not need, scale it and simplify it to make the digitising process easier.

CorelDRAW® integration gives me choices. Do I want to clean up a bitmap and digitise it manually or do I have a vector graphic that is layered and needs simplifying to make it perfect to convert into stitches using the auto digitising tools, or maybe a combination of both.
Something as simple as having 100s of fonts and 1,000s of clipart files at my fingertips has saved me lots of time and money over the years. I can create a completely new graphic design suitable to embroider without drawing a single object.

Those clever people at Corel and Wilcom have made it so easy for users new and experienced alike. It would be a much shorter feature list to say what you cannot do rather than what you can do with CorelDRAW® integration.  In some ways this might seem a little overwhelming because there are very few barriers and very many options open to you. However, you can gain experience and knowledge as you learn the tools by using them; which means it is less daunting for a novice but extremely powerful for professional users.

Not only am I confident that I can control the outputs,

I can choose which route to get the job done to my satisfaction

whether it be creating a visual quote to win new business

or creating a production file that needs to run efficiently on my machines.

As someone who could be described as ‘old school’, I went through the traditional route to learn how to digitise. Importing a bitmap and converting it to stitches automatically in 3 clicks of a mouse, would only be useful to me if I could be confident of the outputs, and with the Wilcom e4 and CorelDRAW® integration I am exactly that! Not only am I confident that I can control the outputs, I can choose which route to get the job done to my satisfaction whether it be creating a visual quote to win new business or creating a production file that needs to run efficiently on my machines.
