Prince George has fast become on the most stylish toddlers today, with an enviable wardrobe that contains its fair share of embroidered pieces! Naturally that makes us big fans of George and his ensembles, with one recent outfit in particular.
Recently the internet (Wilcom included) went a little crazy over the outfit he wore to his sister, Princess Charlotte’s, christening ceremony- and with good reason! The combination of smocked red shorts and an embroidered shirt was a fantastic replicate of an outfit his father wore at the same age. Take a look at the two, side by side, below.

Get the look at Rachel Riley
The outfit was described on Rachel Riley's website as: “Traditional 2-piece smocked shirt and short set. The shirt is embroidered across the chest with a vintage-inspired design. Matching red shorts with button opening at the side - button onto the shirt for a formal look!”
The £85 Rachael Riley outfit was in high demand all over the world and sold out within hours, much like many of George’s other outfits; the phenomenon deemed the “Prince George Effect”. Also like many of his other outfits, this one featured cheerful, eye-catching yet simple and clean embroidery patterns.
We’ve included a few more pictures of George rocking some embroidered outfits- as it turns out, embroidery is very much a staple in his wardrobe!
