While there are many reasons cap stitching (especially stitching a chest logo) is difficult, the main factor is the way the cap is hooped due to the cap frame and machine movement and that the needle plate gap is further away than when you are using a standard hoop.

The world’s first Latin American Pope returned to his home continent on the 5th of July and was presented with a number of gifts at the first stop in Ecuador. In a meeting with the President, Rafael Correa, and archbishop of Quito, Fausto Trávez Trávez, the Pope was presented with three pieces of art- two embroidered portraits and a statue. The two portraits were created with Wilcom software, by digitizer Zhanna Plaksina, and naturally we are very proud of her and her accomplishments.

Kissing Amnesia

“Kissing Amnesia” is an embroidery exhibition which captures poignant moments in the life of artist Raed Yassin. After all the photos taken during his childhood were destroyed in the Lebanese Civil War of the 70s and 80s, this artist got thrifty and recreated them through hand embroidery on a silk background.

Recently, Eduardo Serje (Wilcom’s VP – International Sales) returned from a trip to Latin America to attend various trade-shows, seminars and meetings. He split his time between three countries, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico as a representative of Wilcom and to learn more about, hopefully, expanding ventures in Latin America.  He also was fortunate enough to squeeze in a bit of travelling along the side! Read on to learn more about Eduardo's trip and to see some of the photos he took while he traveled through Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, of both inside the trade-show and of his time as a tourist in these countries!

Trend: The New Maximalist!

Bold designs and embroidered pieces are currently having their moment in the sun! However 'maximalism', as we call it, comes with a twist this time around. The sharp, neat designs inspired by minimalist artists have yet to completely fade away, and what we're seeing now is a modern hybrid of the two- a kind of measured and neat maximalism (which can be achieved perfectly with strategic embroidery!)
